Personality: A little bit brave, a little bit headstrong, and a little bit foolhardy, Skadi is a go-getter first and foremost, oftentimes letting her own curiosity guide her around. Her young, spunky demeanour, on the other hand, keeps her on the move, no matter how many setbacks she may face along the way, oftentimes wanting to push herself further much more than what’s necessary.
While she may come off as simple minded at first glance, she’s actually rather clever - and strong - for her size. She has a massive love of wandering and exploration, oftentimes finding herself splitting away from the beaten path just to satiate her curiosity. She’s rather not afraid of getting her hands dirty, either; a lot of times she’s willing to do or try something once for the sake of it. Still, when she gets knocked down, she tends to pull herself right back up once more, ready to take on whatever life continues to throw at her.
While she doesn’t have the best perspective on ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, she always swears up and down to do the right thing by her friends; by ensuring she keeps them happy at all times. She’s willing to comfort in their time of need, or help out when the situation calls for it. However, her small stature and tendency to leap before she thinks can, more often than not, lead into trouble. Yet, she tends to adapt to plenty of her situations rather quickly as well, once she fully understands what she needs to do. While she’s not the most book smart individual out there, she more than makes up for it with a mix of battle smarts and street smarts, and oftentimes takes a more ‘hands-on’ approach to learning what she needs to do. It’s more her speed, after all.
She also has a massive interest in humans in general, their culture, their behaviours, and the like. More often than not, she tends to try and ‘copy’ the humans to get a grasp on their everyday life, often to mixed results. Likewise, she’s also interested in their little ‘gizmos and gadgets’, and it’s not uncommon to spot her playing around with whatever she can get her hands on… especially if the humans accidentally leave it behind for a little bit too long. Still, she’s no thief, and she’s more than happy to return their stuff to them, no questions asked. She’s just a little too nosy for her own good, is all.
Combat wise, she’s a quick thinker, and, despite her small stature, even for a Rookie-level, isn’t to be taken lightly. She loves a good fight from time to time and loves to challenge Digimon who she believes are ‘stronger’ than her just to challenge herself, while at the same time refusing to lay a finger on the weak and powerless, and to never attack an already downed opponent. It does help that battles are where she is at her most energetic, often making playful quips at the opponent’s expense. However, when push comes to shove and lives are on the line, she will ensure that she’s going to keep going to the bitter end, continuing to fight on even if her own life is in danger. While she’s not afraid to do almost anything to keep her friends safe, she’ll never stoop to lows, like further attacking an opponent begging for mercy or absorbing another Digimon’s data.
History: Much of her short life so far in the Digital World was rather simple; eat, sleep, survive attacks from hostile feral Digimon by the skin of her teeth, repeat. Of course, her small stature and quick thinking helped ensure she’d live to do all this another day, often squeezing her way into small holes larger Digimon could only dream of following her through, or throwing them off with simple yet effective diversions.. Other than that, though? Life was kind of getting stale and repetitive for her, and more often than not, she’d find herself wanting to get just a little bit more out of life.
That is, until she heard rumours of her fellow Digimon kind ending up in this weird new ‘other’ world where all the creatures there looked nearly the same as one another, called ‘humans’, and everything was so ‘high-tech’ and ‘futuristic’. This odd new prospect, of course, helped spark the Valaismon’s imagination, and she set off to find something, anything, to take her to the new world.
Of course, it didn’t work out so well, with every single one of her efforts failing miserably, and after one failure too many, she had all but given up, believing this new other world was some sort of hoax or elaborate rumour that somebody made up that just so happened to spread like wildfire. Rather than try and waste her time trying to reach the other world, she’d merely just explore the rest of the Digital World.
And then one day, she ended up in the other world by complete accident.
Goals:
- To explore the human world and what it has to offer.
- To make new friends, human and Digimon alike.
- To become stronger for the sake of her new friends.
- To learn about the strange phenomenon dragging Digimon to the human world.
