big wip, will add pictures later nn descs current residents: Onyx Quinn // April-Mae Rattenbury Onyx Quinn: A technological genius who frequents the dark web and various anonymous forums to give them access to her... slightly possibly nonso legal concepts free of charge. She, to the public, is an angsty, bored, key-cutting kiosk worker at a futuristic shopping mall filled with hate for how humanity functions and an ever present need to push people away and act like a total bitch to avoid getting hurt. Plotting with her could be simple, as she works at a shopping mall it could be any sort of thing occuring there. She's kind of an ass and if you do anything to annoy her on the street, doing general everyday activities, she will cuss you out, which could result in a fight or verbal altercation. She's very wary of friends, though if you try get close to her whos to say what could happen? Feel free to yeet your ideas down below- pls remember she's a civ for now.
April-Mae Rattenbury: A heiress to a large technological firm that's been around for generations, April-Mae is the social pirahna of the Rattenbury group, charming and sweet, frequenting all sorts of events. Though her darling personality is only surface level, as she's having a huge identity crisis over how much of her life and peronality she's been faking for years to keep the family content and happy. Shes somebody who could easily hop into a conversation and charm you off your feet, or she could be an annoying rich brat who you judged at firm glance and wish to pick on for that alone. Plotting is probably easier for April-Mae than it is for Onyx. She too is a civ for now.

Amara Saint-Louis: Amara's definitely the character I see having the most potential for interacting with yours. She's right around their age, and the three of them are all pretty brilliant in their own way, so she may've flat-out been a classmate or peer of theirs. A natural socialite like April could hold her attention with ease through a conversation, especially if she was able to pierce through the veil of Amara's awkwardness first. Once the two find a topic to connect on (or at least pretend to be connected on, for April), hoo boy, they could talk for a while.
In particular, however, I think she and Onyx would have a lot of common ground. They'd both be likely to show up in more alternative/punky spaces (so long as there were motorcycles involved to coax Amara out, of course), and Amara's earnest drive to learn and discover probably reminds Onyx painfully of her past self. There's probably room for some connections, some contrasts, some secondhand cringing. I don't know if Onyx is particularly down for a friendship yet, but who knows? Maybe being in a shared social space instead of bugging her at work might kick things off on a bit of a stronger foot.
Isaac Sunderland: Isaac, in contrast, is Equally Angery. He's probably a little too young to be a friend-friend, but he's at least Not A Kid and could hold his own conversationally. I feel like a big angry stress karaoke thread could be real fun for them at some point, if they ended up striking up a friendship of sorts instead of just mutually pissing each other off. But even if they did mutually piss each other off, that can be a load of fun in its own right.

Ooooh I love the proposals you've put down Legion !! With Amara, if she went to a more public school rather than a private school she would have defo known the too, possibly! Tho ofc Onyx has had a name change and appearance change to get away from her past. A few ideas with her, I read she's a sci-fi nerd. An alternative place that could possibly bring the two together could be a convention, particularly once for props and technology utelised in film- though they'd both be there for completly different reasons it could make for an interesting encounter? Other places could be some sort of back-alley alternative shop that specialises in moterbike gear and fashion, or it could be an awkward encounter in the lumen underground between a motorbiker and a civillian trying to get home. And then with April-Mae, though a socialite, it could be some sort of chance encounter where April-mae recognised Amara and drags her into an awkward 'oh my god, remember me??' conversation of some kind, if we go with April-Mae having known her from school, it could be possible she knows about her scientist mum and might be both trying to dig for info to help the Rattenbury's or just in general seeking out buisness opportunities ontop of conversing in some way!! Onyx would start a fight with a teenager. Teenagers remind her of being dumb so she views them with scorn, primarily because she's probably projecting! Though she's far more likely to take out her annoyance in being mad at the world around her rather then a teenager, if Isaac does anything to annoy the girl he's catching her words. They could perhaps bond over general hatred of people being assholes where a fight mediums out into people suck, yeah peope suck, wtf do you know ur like 5 sorta vibe. Idk if he and April-Mae would have much interaction, I don't think he'd like her or want to like her, esp since she in general is a rich big-shot who prbably wouldn't give his bite the time of day.

Oh, definitely. Amara sure as heck wouldn't recognize Onyx at this point. Though honestly, I don't really see her being the type to pry. I feel like either a convention (especially in time for the Lumen City Expo, which'd be the site's grand opening kickoff event and is coming soon! /shamelessplug) or a chance meeting in the Underground is the best idea for the duo.
God, the "Oh my gooooooooooood, it's yoooooooooooooou!" is so painfully awkward I can already hear it. April-Mae all smiles, bringing up a shitton of stuff that Amara barely remembers and is just smile-and-nodding her way through. Business opportunities likely wouldn't be too present, since Amara's science mom's mostly retired to tend to the farm by this point (though she does still pursue independent research or do some biochemical consulting whenever possible), but I don't think a "maybe not" has ever stopped a Rattenbury from poking around.
Isaac would absolutely continue a fight with someone bigger than him. He'd fight dads if you gave him the opportunity, some punk girl's not that intimidating in comparison. I also agree I could totally see their little spat constantly friggin dipping in and out between them griping at each other and them commiserating together. I feel like they'd both somehow come out of that with a "that went okay I think???" reaction, and the world's most confused kinda-friendship is just plain a funny niche for characterization.

hmm, i think w/ amar the lumen city expo seems more like a general woah these are our advancement expo than an actual like, nerd sci-fi convention, also i'd have to wait days for that booooneeee, but yeah chaos underground could be fun, just ah yes. a chance meeting. nothing suspicous going on around here.
and yes, yes yes april-mae will be acting the part of a middle-aged mum of facebook hitting up an old acquaintance just to get her in on her buisness, except she's only 21 and being midly pressured to get more people in for the rattenbury's. i'd be down for the painfully awkward thread i haven't died in a while!
with isaac where would they be beefin? any specific place in mind?

I'll be real, I have no idea how they'd meet, but Maria would absolutely try to get into April-Mae's good graces. Being seen with such a socialite would have to boost Maria's own image, right? I think the fact that they both put on their own personas is interesting, too, and I'm curious to see how they ultimately deal with that.

Maria Carveroh, i'd be so down for a thread between those two, the paralells could be really fun to explore! i have a few loose ideas we could work off and plot around if you want, perhaps there's some kind of science fair/even at maria's school and april-mae is one of the many people who've come to do scouting, or perhaps she goes to school with one of April-Mae's younger siblings and they somehow end up having an encounter at the private school? that's what i can think of off the topof my head, if you have any other ideas or wish to expand off either lmk!

LordieI just realized I didn't tag in my last post, oops! On the one hand, I feel like the science fair/event would open the most doors to actual interaction, but I don't know what I'd have Maria do for said event (my school never had science fairs because it was lame). I think the younger sibling route would be easiest, but I don't have any concrete ideas for it. Any thoughts/preferences on your end?

Maria Carver yeye i getcha, my school never had science fairs either so all i know about them is from american tv shows. but yeah, i mean april-mae has one sibling that's maria's age, peyton. i don't particularly have too many ideas, but peyton herself is v soft-hearted and kind but a bit of a pushover, perhaps there was some sort of altercation or something that lead to some sort of teacher-conference where parents were called, but april-mae had to show up instead? or there could have been a group project where she ends up at the rattenbury mansion or something.

LordieOh my gosh, how did I not think of group projects? That's perfect! And poor Peyton is exactly the kind of person Maria would take advantage of to get a leg up (I am so sorry). Sounds like we have our thread idea! Do you want to start, or should I?
