It was amazing how much one could learn just from standing in close-enough proximity to other conversations. Especially when people brought their conversations to you, like the discussion of food that the purple helmed dinosaur was having with the purple imp about the human world.
For instance that apparently both of them, Digimon apparently, could taste (and how did that work for a digital lifeform David wondered) and that the imp had resorted to stealing and digging through trash in the past to sustain themselves. He didn't have much in the way of solid scientific understanding to draw on, beyond the information barrage the engineer he had talked to earlier had left and that would take time to settle into his brain for him to really understand it, but if he pulled from what he knew of science fiction then some kind of localized mass converter to run things? But how would that- ah right, the purple one was still a round. The one that was even more prickly than a cactus. At least cacti had the decency to wait until something actually happened before needling those nearby.
"I'm literally wearing something around my neck that tells everyone with eyes what I am, and I'm in the most stereotypical reporters' get up you could get...well maybe more of reporter-cameraman hybrid but still." David remarked as he lifted an eyebrow in response to Gashmon's claims and used his pen to lift his lanyard that said 'PRESS' in big letters down the strap. He shot a look at Taiyou because he had noticed the easy conversation between the two and continued. "And anyway you have an honor student with you who I'm sure can buy you food so no deal. I'm only buying food for these two."
And he had some names for them! He wrote down DIO and GIO in all caps with a completely unnecessarily flourish of a line beneath the header before he down the notes on their experiences had been so far, even including 'future lord of something' with a mostly serious expression. There was an upwards tilt to the sides of his mouth but that was probably nothing. "I have to say, I'm already feeling a bit embarrassed for humanity for not asking before touching. Was it more children doing it or adults?"
He had to pause for a moment, his pen lifted off paper at Gio's comment about eating ears as he kept himself from chuckling aloud. It was endearingly sweet and he very swiftly wrote the response down in its entirety because at least one of the editors would melt at it. "I should clarify, they are not actual elephants' ears just named for their resemblance. It's a thin pastry with lots of sugar and cinnamon on it. Or would you prefer more churros? What's your preference for snacks, salty or sweet?" He asked and waved his pen between Gio, the box, and the food stands in the distance.
There was more commentary about the cosplayer-not a cosplayer but a Digimon? A human looking digimon? Hm! David flipped a page, jotted a couple consonants down then flipped back to his previous page and addressed Gashmon's comment. "She wasn't animal, and at that point no one knew humans could interact with digital constructs like this." he gestured to Dio and then the showroom floor at large where an obstacle course flickered through different settings, a young girl was lifted by her dad to gently pet a pastel holographic giraffe on the nose while wearing the special gloves, and the various other attractions on the expo floor. "Obvious conclusion was a human of some kind, and with that outfit either a performer for a show or a cosplayer."

"Hmn, that is an issue, one that I must rectify immediately. I cannot have someone who I owe favor to rummaging through human rubbish. I have heard that they are another kind of poison compared to the horrors of dark area, yet a poison nonetheless. Very well. I will discuss is the boy, and see if he could treat you for a meal, one that I will repay him for. It would only be fair, yes," Gashmon nodded.
...If Gashmon have any eyes, though, he would be rolling it at Dio calling himself "imposing and dashing". He wonder what sort of taste does the human have to call him dashing, and what sort of lion of Oz kind of courage they have to call him imposing. He dared to say that Dio is far more imposing, but that came from his size, territory wise.
"Kosomon-smelling Human, it seems that my condition was something that you have naught an inkling of, but in case it was not obvious: I am blind. Your human writing, I do not think, would be anything similar with Digimon writing either. So even if I happened to be gifted with sight, I sorely doubt that I could understand the significance of this "tag". Neither I know what you meant with "reporter and cameraman". Your queer human tools are beyond a common Digimon, such as ours', understanding. Suit yourself however, whoever you decide to feed. I have learnt the importance of this deceptively important piece of smooth surfaced rectangular object called "money". Human flaunt their uses so much but I question why they put so much value of an object on such a flimsy thing?"
Now he decided to address Gio.
"Elephant ear, is not a literal ear or so I heard. It seems to be a type of..." the Digimon tapped his visory head for a moment, as if trying to recall it. "a type of food called pastry. It might be bread. And Gio, what was remiss of you was not the fact that you took it, but the method of which you attempted to took it. It would be rude to took what offered to you sneakily, as if it was some cravenous act. That is why you should took it openly, without any stealthy behavior. It is a sign of trust. You would do well to remember it."
Taiyou meanwhile sighed. "It's not that I... like to pick fight with them. I just had no choice, alright? And no, I don't know a dang thing about brawling. Anyway, she looked like a satyr..."
"Use common descriptor more, boy."
"Ah her lower half is a goat."
"Clothes?"
"Present."
"Horns?"
"Three. One is a nub on the top, the other two... much bigger. She got tail and wings."
"...You lost me on the last two. She might be a mutant Aegiomon. As for you, Kosomon-smelling human... Unfortunately, from my unprofessional opinion, what humans have at the moment in here... are much more primitive than what bestowed to you, shining humans. With those apparatus I am unsure if they could interact with Digimons. At the direction where you are pointing, I did not feel any "light"."

"Oh Gashy, your concern has been noted, but worry not: so far we've yet to taste anything that has caused anything worse than a mild disgusting taste." Dio shrugged once more, reaching to give a perhaps lightly condescending pat to the Gashmon's head...before thinking better about it and retracting his hand. Being rude to someone offering even more food felt rude, even for someone as brazen as he was, so he adopted a more sincere tone. "That said, we'd be glad to take you up on that offer any time, should you so choose. We lordship are not ungrateful." He smiled a bit, though it faded slightly as his own words remained in the air for a moment. There it was again that talk of perceived royalty...where did it keep coming from?
Ah well, no point in dwelling on it right now, he had to cooperate with that other human if he wanted more food, after all!
"Children, obviously, they can't keep their hands to themselves. I'm unsure where the age gap really starts with humans, but I'm sure a large amount of adults tried too." At least he assumed they were adult, the only real way for him to tell ages apart was size, much like he did back in the digital world. He had assumed the wrinkliness of their face would be a good indicator too but after seeing a lot of what he could only assume were infants that resembled more a dried up grape than anything, that theory was out of the window.
"Ohhh, I see." The guilmon nodded at both Gashmon's and David's rundown of what an elephant ear actually was. It was clear he was considerably more at ease now knowing he didn't have to eat an actual hearing organ. While he was still a bit taken aback by the digimon chiding him for being sneaky with food, he was nonetheless willing to listen, giving yet another nod once he was done educating Gio on basic manners. "Got it! No more sneaking." He declared as he turned back to David, now scratching his chin in deep thought for a second as he considered his options on what food to ask. Oh, if only he knew the names of the things they had here, he could have probably taken a more educated guess than just say if it would be something salty or sweet. In the end he finally said with conviction, "Salty's good! Anything is, really."
Thinking about food was hard. Getting it out of the way so he could eat asap was probably the right call, right?
As for the talk of that mysterious digimon the boy and his blind lizard fought, Dio kept quiet as he tried to form a picture on his head, see if Taiyou's description fit anything he had seen so far, either on this world or the digital one, but nothing ringed a bell so far. He did let out an amused chuckle at David's explanation though. Humans could be quite dense about trying to come up with rational explanations for things.
"Seems a bit counterproductive for a performer to beat up their audience if you ask me." He gave a more serious glance at Gashmon. "Oh trust me, they can reach us just fine now. I can attest to that." There was a clear sign of annoyance and perhaps...a slight disgust(?) in his tone, clearly not appreciating being reached for and prodded by every other random stranger by the past hour or so. "If nothing else they seem to be interacting with data just fine...and guess what are we made of?" He looked back at the journalist while adopting a tone not unlike that of a teacher making sure his class was paying attention.

"Wait, blind? How are you blind? You've got to have some kind of electronic photo receptors or something?" blurted out David and then immediately regretted it. The moment he'd said it he could see some of the appeal: it'd be safer to test environmental safety aid for the blind outside of laboratory settings when you didn't have to worry as much about them dying. "No, wait, nevermind I get it. That was an awful question and we should all pretend it never happened."
What he absolutely didn't get was, well, everything Gashmon said after that. Okay so the words made sense taken on their own, this wasn't a vocabulary problem! Even individual sentences were fine, but then you took it all together and it painted a picture of a being that wasn't familiar with modern human society. At all. That seemed ... well 'odd' was one way of putting such a choice for a technology fair. Maybe a prototype of a future proof companion? If he took it from the angle of say, a digital companion then he could see the appeal. Regardless, the easiest thing to do would apparently be to play along.
"A reporter's job is basically in the title. We write articles about things that happen and let other people know about it. The importance of what we write about can vary greatly, but my job here today is to cover all of this." And with that he gestured to the expo at large. He was pretty pleased at keeping his tone mostly neutral despite all the disbelief he held. It helped that Gio and Dio had requests! "Right, salty..could go chips or could go fries. Have you had chili cheese fries yet? Those are certainly an experience and pretty filling too. As a bonus you can put all kinds of goop on them."
He quieted down to listen to the conversation between Dio and Gashmon and Taiyou, his mind churning. He could almost feel his brain resist, could easily visualize his subconcious throwing blankets over a large uncomfortable object. He recognized the feeling, had felt denial dig this deep this obviously once before when he had been confronted with something particularly unpleasant. The urge to shy away from pulling back the curtain was strong, but proof was waiting just an arms length and a glove's width away wasn't it?
"Do you mind if we go for a walk through the hall? The chili fries stand is at the other end for some reason." He paused for a moment, thinking of how that would expose the so-called Digimon to more people that would want to touch and how to avoid it. "The aisle's between the presentations are big enough we could walk in a line, humans at one end with you three in the middle. If anyone tries to touch them we could ward them off.
"So great lord of destruction Dio," His mouth quirked at the title because throwing that nonsense back at the purple imp had the potentional for fun banter and meant he didn't have to think about bigger questions all at once. "If you're data how come you can't just ghost through people when they don't want to touch you? Can you not turn insubstantial at will? Are your powers so limited?"

While the attractions of the Expo were teeming with activity day in and day out, the food courts certainly weren't any slouches either. Hell, to some people, they were practically the main attraction. The patchwork quilt of cultures that made up Lumen City meant that myriad varieties of street foods were on offer today, and the pressure of having the world's eyes on the expo meant each vendor would be firing on all cylinders. Local specialties, international fares, and yes, even tried-and-true highlights like a stand chili fries were all vying for attention. In particular, the space around the Megaplex was teeming with would-be foodies of all types. Turns out hologram obstacle courses and full-body arcade experiences were a hell of a way to work up an appetite. Who knew?
Even the Expo itself seemed hungry. Hungry for what? Why, power of course.
The food court was practically bathed in light as the brightness of its many neon signs, advertisement screens, and hologram banners intensified to a fever pitch. Then, with the sound of generators humming and glass shattering, the white gave way to black. All of the lights died just as quickly as they'd roared to life, leaving nothing but darkness in their wake. It wasn't just the lights and advertisements, either. Menu screens flickered out, leaving the contents of each stand a mystery. Camera feeds providing direct views into the Megaplex first cut to static, then died altogether, as did every light inside of the Megaplex. Hologram animals disappeared in mid-pet, leaving those showering them in attention stumbling. Lasers stopped firing from the laser tag guns, no longer criss-crossing across the entryway to the Megaplex like an array of colorful shooting stars. The obstacle course disappeared in mid jump, leaving onlookers very, very thankful that those braving it were wearing analog safety harnesses and leaping over good old fashioned nets. Not even the musical talent was spared, the hologram mariachi band that had been serenading the food court disappearing right as their song hit a crescendo. Their absence left the room every bit as silent as it was dark.
It was maybe five seconds before the silence gave way to an uproar. First, confusion. One light going out was expected. But the entire food court? The entire Megaplex? Hell, maybe even the entire expo? The crowd murmured among themselves, louder and more worried by the second. Their confusion gave way to fear. Their fear gave way to anger. The murmuring got more discordant and more harried as the blackout rolled on. Some tried to push through the darkness, not caring who or what they bumped into as they tried to make their escape. Others were finding the hanger starting to get to them, looming around particularly crowded vendors like hordes of zombies. Interrupting the hottest event of the decade was bad enough. Doing so and also depriving the crowd of their food? That was a hell of a risk.
Yet for everyone who found themselves getting worked up, others refused to let the spirit of community that the Expo stood for die. Some tried to pull out their phones to see what was happening, only to be dismayed as their webpages failed to load and Lumen's infamously incredibly wi-fi coverage went dark. Nevertheless, these points of light were a welcome distraction in the darkness. People sitting in adjacent tables found themselves coming together, putting the lights of their phones together to try and provide as much illumination to one another as possible. Vendors went from stall to stall and storefront to storefront, putting together what food they already had prepared to kick up what dishes they could. A few vendors with more analog methods of cooking found themselves serving almost as havens, a portion of the food court's activity moving aside as gas and coal grills powered up to give the people what they wanted.
Some saw hope. Some saw despair. Yet a few saw an opportunity.
While every table was discussing the going-ons, no two tables seemed to be discussing the same thing twice. The one exception was concerningly reoccurring; food was disappearing right off of tables and windowsills. One minute, something had been left untouched in the fuss. The next, it was very much touched, its owners only realizing moments after the fact. The complaint started by the Megaplex's entrance, but traveled from the food court's front side to its back side as if carried away on a wave. Some seemed to blame their neighbors, a few heated arguments flaring up around the more tense tables. Others figured there was something fishy going on, turning their phones into searchlights as they swept them across the Megaplex. Yet try as they might, nobody could make out anything concrete.
Or, at least, no ordinary humans could. Those who had already been touched by a world unlike ours may have noticed something a little strange; a small, chartreuse-furred creature guzzling down fistfuls of fries. By his side, what appeared to be a sphere with massive, rippling biceps whooped and cheered. It was practically smothered in the noise of the crowd, blending in too much for the unaware to hear, but if your attention was already on the strange creatures it'd be nearly unmistakable. "Come on, Pulse, baby!" it encouraged, grabbing a hot dog off of a nearby table and flinging it at the green creature. The creature leapt into the air, catching it in its mouth and wolfing it down. "Gotta turn those grains into gains! The more calories you get, the more we can burn!"
(This is it, the Blackout is here! Something's happened in the digital spaces and now its leaking into the real world! At this point feel free to continue this thread either free-form as you had previously or it can become guided. Regardless the choice is yours: what do you make of these mysterious food thieves?)

...Gashy? These ones has been very... impolite with their immediate buddy buddy attitude it seems. Gashmon doesn't seem to be particularly amused with that nickname, but he feel no desire to voice it out, so he did not. That 'lordship' though? "...I bow to no one. Of what your lordship entails I do not have even the slightest of knowledge, as it seems you lack any form of dominion, even the smallest sort."
"Wow, immediate blow," Taiyou remarked.
"The Imp need to get his ego flattened regularly, lest it got inflated so much that the moment someone poke at it, it exploded on his face."
"...Wow."
Then Gashmon turned his head to David. "Good question, human. Do pardon me for answering a question with a question... however, tell me: Why is it a preconception of yours to assume that someone is born with gift of vision? How about gift of audiotory facilities? Olfactory ones? Why is it seem to be a feature you think that it is given to have? Is it common for human? But why do you expect it to also apply to other species? Is it expected for a Gashmon to be able to see?"
Gashmon's questions are not hostile, considering his tone is still the flat, neutral one.
"However to answer your question: ...It is just is. Human world is full of analogous objects I cannot perceive. Yet someone like you or the boy, or other Digimons like those of Gio and Dio, I can perceive. You appear as if there are light in you. However, if you ask me..." he raised a half eaten hot dog "Can I sense this? The answer is no. I can smell it, I can taste it, of course I can feel its texture upon my claws, yet if you ask me "can you describe to me what does this object shaped like without touching it?" I would remind you that I am, in fact, blind. My sensory ability only works with someone with digital signal it seems... that, and human with certain... traits."
Dio's answer made him wonder. "...Our first encounter... At that point, I cannot touch human, nor they can touch me, can they?"
"Not only that, they can't even see you," Taiyou mused.
"That is correct. My woes came from the fact I could not interact with anything and I can only leave my mark as warning."
"What is it that you're so interested on?"
"...The fact that I am now corporeal, and now humans are able to perceive mine form. The trigger," he pointed at the Digivice "is our contract, boy. I am indeed stronger in corporeal form, yet I cannot help but to think... Why is that... Why that my first appearance upon this world must be in such form? What makes me and other Digimon different? I understand not, and the clues are scarce. However, it remains a question that need an answer: Can I change into incorporeal form, as before?"
Taiyou hummed before tapping some of his Digivice screen, trying to navigate through it. "...Maybe I have something that can answer your question. Lemme check."
Before he knew it, he seem to press the right button as Gashmon's form suddenly turned transparent like before.
"...I feel slight drop in power, but it seems I have returned to transparent look."
"But this time around seem I can see you pretty well!"
"That device, seem to work as I have been sa--"
Before he could continue suddenly the blackout happened. Gashmon looked up in alert. "...Boy, make me corporeal again. Now."
Thankfully the light from the Digivice provided Taiyou with enough lighting to do so. "...What's up?" Taiyou asked.
"...Keep your voice down, I am focusing on filtering the sounds. All these noises are aggravating me."
Humans, robbed of their vision, but Gashmon is blind to begin with, so there's no issue. Only all these chaos is making him annoyed because it almost feels like they couldn't keep calm when one of their senses is robbed from them. Thankfully, it's seems that everything is normalizing with human flashlights. But Gashmon aren't interested on those. He noticed the two powerful Digimons that was around wasn't here anymore. Are they the cause? But what for? Hmn, no, there's no use of pursuing wild goose. Instead, he focused on remaining signals.
"...Pulsemon... and a Musclemon? Boy, guide me."
"Where?" Taiyou asked.
Gashmon quickly pointed at the two Digimons. Taiyou squinted...
"...Ha? Gains? With fries? They're faster to get cardiac arrest than bulking up---"
"Boy, focus. I need to confirm their intentions."

The imp merely shrugged. "Guess some just have a hard time loving themselves without tearing down those around." Whether his attempt at hiding his bruised ego behind a veil on nonchalant indifference. He would have loved to give him any sort of tangible proof, say even a single name that could have validated his sudden claims of royalty, yet the more he strained to think of something the more muddled things became. He relented eventually as he began feeling a migraine flaring up, however.
Gio meanwhile was too overwhelmed by the promise of delicious treats from David. He couldn't understand why Gashmon or his tamer were so cagey about the man, he was being so generous! "Ohhh, I love literally everything you just said right now." The guilmon said, drool practically dripping from the corner of his lips at the mere thought. He had no idea what any of those things David said even looked like, sure, but the way the human described them made it sound absolutely tantalizing, prompting Gio to declare "Chilli cheese fries and I promise to answer literally anything."
With that promise out of the way however, came another question aimed at the "Lord of Destruction", who of course completely missed out on any possible sarcasm behind that title and simply took it at face value, a smirk visibly growing as he listened to David's question. This was immediatelly followed by a more contemplative look, the imp clearly thinking his answer through before looking at his confused brother.
"We can do that?" Gio tilted his head, looking at his open hand as he tried (unsuccesfully) to make it phase through the floor. He pouted a bit, but kept insisting for a bit even as Dio began explaining his take on the matter.
"As much as it irks me to admit, I can't because I simply don't know how." Really, the only reason he even knew that was a skill was because he had both seen other mons doing so, and because most humans apparently had some trouble seeing digimon that were perfectly visible to him. Truly, it couldn't be just due to the species having collective near sightedness. "Perhaps it'd be easier if we had a human like Gashy, or maybe we could even learn if we tried hard enough, but as it stands my powers are better suited for destruction as you so aptly put it. Not so much cloak and dagger." That said it was probably a worthwhile skill to pursue, being able to avoid grubby handed humans would be quite the boon.
His guess seemed to be on the right track too, seeing how Gashmon was quick to ask Taiyou to see if he could use that digivice of him to get that desired effect. It would seem the answer was a resounding yes. "For what is worth, you do seem a bit...less opaque, for lack of a better word. Your smell seems a bit muddled too. I can still see you just fine but I guess that's because I already know what to perceive." His musings quickly came to a sudden stop however, as everything around them was swallowed by darkness. Judging by the reaction of the other humans, this was clearly not part of the event.
Before he could even ask what was going on the imp felt a tight grip on his hand. It didn't take him longer than a second to know it was Gio, clearly a bit on edge at the sudden return of a pitch blackness they hadn't experienced since they arrived. Who could blame him? The last thing they've been in a place this dark was back on the Digital World. The last place they wanted to be right now. He reciprocated the tight squeeze with one of his own, and a quiet "Easy, easy...". The guilmon relented a bit, clearly a bit less alarmed knowing they were still on the human world, at least for now.
"What's going on?" He whispered, not wanting to break the Gashmon's "concentration" by being too loud.
"How should I know?" The imp replied, taking a look around to see if he could find anything in the darkness. Only one thing stood out to him, and it was the same Gashmon soon pointed out. A pair of digimon rather loudly indulging in some food that clearly didn't belong to them. A bit underwhelming, and while a bit annoying this didn't seem like any of his business...well, at least until he felt the grip of his brother's hand letting go as the black guilmon gave loud stomps towards the two of them, probably bumping into stray humans on the way but he didn't seem to care.
"Gio?" The imp called out, the dinosaur only barking an outraged remark as a response.
"Hey. I said HEY! You two!" He pointed a single digit at the musclemon and pulsemon, righteous anger and uncharacteristic vitriol in his tone. "You can't go around stealing food all sneaky like that!"
Dio cursed something foul under his breath, probably aimed at the Gashmon. Clearly his scolding was already influencing his brother with stuff at the worst possible time. The imp gave a look back at David, though he was unsure if he could even see him in this darkness. "You, wait here! Or follow, I don't care. I have to keep my brother out of trouble. Again." With that he'd go after Gio, hopefully before he got everyone into a bad situation. Clearly, the universe really didn't want him to have a normal lunch for once.

Okay, so, David was fully willing to admit his question about turning insubstantial at will was about eighty-percent him taking the piss but from what Gashmon had said about his first encounter than maybe his snark had been more on point than he had thought. Especially when Dio and Gio joined in on the topic. Of course David couldn't help but be a little smug that chili fries were enough to secure Gio's answers but honestly from what he had seen so far it'd be weirder if the dino had a higher price. "Well I will absolutely get your chili fries with everything then! So if it's possible then what's keeping you from-"
The photographer cut himself off as Dio answered and then Gashmon abruptly disappeared after Taiyou messed with his overly fancy toy. He almost asked what that was but there was a thought in his head, a couple threads pulled together unconsciously. Formless, unable to be seen normally by humans, intangible and fully autonomous. He slid a finger along the side of his camera as he thought about it, as he remembered. He opened his mouth to ask a question and then shut it just as quick when the lights abruptly went out. When all the lights went out.
"Well, shit. This is going to change the tone of my article." He joked, but quietly to not distract Gashmon too much. Humor was his favorite coping mechanism for tense situations after all. One hand tightening on his camera as the other was raised to lift his sunglasses off his face. Gashmon had said something about other -mons and David took that to mean they were more of the so-called Digimon that had been previously mentioned.
There was something to be said for wearing sunglasses inside. That something was not, as it turned out, being able to instantly adapt to the darkness around them after taking off said sunglasses. Oh no, Life couldn't be that easy for him. He closed the arms then carefully hung them over the neckline of his shirt. Gio yelled in the distance and Dio mentioned he had to follow him. A smile curved David's lips as he followed after the sounds and used the faint light from Taiyou's toy to guide him after the twins. He knew a thing or two about keeping track of siblings.
"I'm following those two, you coming? Maybe try not to bump into anyone Prickles. Or let them bump into you I guess."
Elsewhere in the hall there was a feeling of pressure in Riley's chest that had him gripping at the railing of the stairs he was on and then all at once it eased away and he sighed silently in relief. For a moment he had felt weird, really weird, and then the lightss had gone out and the pressure had built and now-
Well, now he had to catch up with David! Especially with the touch-scent of so many other digimon around. It had abruptly strengthened, more being added to the confusing color-taste that had already existed by the man but... the pointy purple one and the other two hadn't appeared to want to attack David so-
"Hey! Watch where you're going!" The human Riley had bumped into yelled. He sounded more scared then mad (although he was definately both) and Riley shrank against the railing and nodded even though he couldn't see him. All around him the crowd was growing restless and he could hear more than a couple smaller voices warbling with fear. Oh he hoped the lights came back on soon, people were very much not happy and he didn't like the lingering feeling of-
Wait.
He, he had nodded to the man. The man. The human man, he had nodded to.
Because he had bumped into him.
Because he, Riley, had bumped into him.
Bumped.
Riley tightened his grip on the railing and stepped loudly as he made his way down the stairs and tried not to bump into anyone else, his mind a whirl.

The Digitally-conscious present were quick to turn their attention to the vagabonds. How could they not? The duo wasn't exactly being subtle. Hell, with how Musclemon was blowing on a whistle and excitedly pumping his arms, it was like the two were begging for attention. Could humans really not hear the two's debauchery? Or were they just striking now while the iron was hot? Whatever the case, the feast continued without a care in the world. Or, at least, without a care for their surroundings. There was a lot of care amongst themselves; Pulsemon was devouring down his meets and sweets like a pint-sized competitive eater.
Had Gashmon's quieter approach defined this little encounter, perhaps Pulsemon and Musclemon would've never paid the group any mind. However, Gio was quick to give away the game, full of piss and vinegar as he pointed an accusatory claw at the duo. Pulsemon stopped in mid bite, a hot dog flopping out of his mouth as he looked towards Gio. "Swowen?" he asked through stuffed up cheeks, before shaking his head and swallowing the hot dog. "Stolen?" he repeated. He looked towards Musclemon, confusion and pleading in his eyes.
Musclemon sighed, putting a pair of sausage-like fingers to his temple. Was there any part of this thing's arms that weren't horrifically swole? "Pulse, Pulse, baby," he said. "Lemme handle this. You just worry 'bout those carbs, dig?" Pulsemon nodded, grabbing a bottle of ketchup and drinking it right out of the bottle. Clearly, he was confused, but he had the right spirit.
With that, Musclemon cracked his knuckles, turning towards the incoming accusers. "Whoa there, big man on campus alert," he said as he looked the BlackGuilmon up and down, letting out a brief whistle. "Y'know, with a wingspan like that, you'd be a great numero duo at the Musclemon Gym. Hell, you could even reach the top shelf for us! But I'm gettin' ahead of myself, huh? After all, we're talking beef, not business, ain't we? Now, what was that you said? You're calling my client a thief?
Well, you'd be wrong, bub! I know, I know. We're all new here. But this is a shop, right? I know, I know, I was shocked humans have 'em, too. Not like they've got a core to keep all their memory in. But we transferred ours to their devices, all fair and square like. See? Take a look, right there!" Musclemon pointed towards a nearby TV screen. It was still powered down, but as Pulsemon grabbed a bottle of mustard to go with his bottle of ketchup, Musclemon snapped his fingers. A few sparks danced around the edges of the monitor, Musclemon's grin widening a little. "See? Clearly, that's what these big ol' boxes are for. They must be some kinda human memory safe. And judging by all those zeroes on the screen when we showed up, these humans are loaded! Maybe we should open up a branch here and get in on some of that action . . . yeah, yeah, now that's the ticket!"
Either Musclemon was bullshitting his perfectly spherical ass off, or there were some absolutely fundamental misunderstandings going on.

Gio's approach made Gashmon let out a sharp "tsk" of annoyance. He did not want to fight, and antagonizing thieves, despite being something common in Dark Area where stealing resource equal to get killed and chased by the owner... is not the right approach here. Are these two... perhaps, just like him back then? Considering no humans seems to really paid them any attention? Either way, Gashmon hissed as he walked, tail swishing about. It's a warning for any human that he's not in mood for any talk or blocking.
There's something about this round Digimon that make him even more pissed off though. That tone, it smells sleazy. There's just something that he dislikes about it. Unlike the imp or the lizard who admittedly wore his heart on his sleeve... he can trust them rather easily. These ones though? No. The Pulsemon however looked like a lost child.
"They do not use that currency," Gashmon commented, tone sharper than usual. "If you bring legalities into this, sphere, you will do well to understand how their trade works."
"...Uuh and your 'client' is gaining more cholestrol than actual carbs and protein," Taiyou commented. "Is... that even alright?"
"Boy, I do not understand what you spoke of. However, we need to control the situation. Let me handle the talk, Gio."
Speaking of which he did see the "spark" coming. So he guess he can see data being transferred. But for some reason he cannot see this thing called "wifi", so it's seem there's certain limitation in his sense. However, in the end, a talk need to be done.
"Boy, lend me one of your 'money' for a second."
"Huh? Oh, alright."
Taiyou quickly opened his wallet and pulled some bill which he gave to Gashmon. The unique Digimon then hold it for the sphere Digimon to see. "This is what human use. Money. Memory worth nothing to them, as they are unable to use them. Monetary of this land are different from Digital World, and you cannot expect them to be the same... In fact... I wonder if your directly transferred memory is stored there for real?"
"...Uh, what, the TV? No, it's just display unit... basically they show image, moving or not... and that's pretty much it."
"...............and thus it stores nothing, and you are in fact, wasting your hard earned data. Cease, and let us find different method to satisfy your client's food needs." After he said this he immediately returned the money back to Taiyou. "Have it back."
"......Seriously, though, a bottle of mustard, a bottle of tomato sauce, hot dog, french fries... My athlete side is crying... This diet... this diet is just ruining body seriously... The calories, not to mention the salt intake..."
