Name: Toki Akiyama Age: 21 Birthday: March 19 Gender: Male Hometown: Goldenview Occupation: College Student
Class: Digidestined Hybrid Warrior Defining Trait: Peace Digisoul: A shimmering veil of deep blue stardust. AR Field and Homepage: Scattered cherry blossom and wisteria trees with white and blue blossoms appear in the vicinity along with rolling fields of shimmering silver grass. Toki's Homepage takes the form of a comfortable Japanese cottage and dojo on a moonlit mountainside, with a couple of cherry blossom trees outside.
Appearance: Toki is a tall, fit young man with a dark tan complexion and stands at 6’4”. His dark-brown hair is rather long, extending down to the back of his neck and he often keeps it tied up in a ponytail. Usually has a tired expression, his deep blue eyes half-lidded most of the time. This often gets him into trouble as some people assume him to be lazy or disinterested most of the time. His facial features are soft, almost feminine with the only blemish being a scar running down the left side of his lip.
Whenever he must go out to the city for whatever reason, he wears a grey short-sleeved shirt with black collar, a black jacket he usually keeps unzipped, and a pair of ordinary blue jeans. The only accessory he seems to have on him is a dark blue scarf with white star patterns on it. When training he will be wearing his family dojo's gi, which is dark blue in coloration, and his hands and feet will be wrapped in bandages.
Personality: Timid, quiet, and overall passive, Toki doesn’t do much to make his presence known. This can be hard for him to keep up, however, as his physique and height tend to draw attention. Despite his shy nature, he is surprisingly passionate about the things he really enjoys, such as fiction of any kind, martial arts, and writing. He’s also versed in pop culture and gaming news, and while he’s passionate about it he’s rather shy about this side of him. If someone manages to get him to open up, he’s very warm and kind, though at times can be a bit of a worrywart. He gets along well with his family and respects people unconditionally unless they give him a reason not to. On that note, he tends to not care about status, wealth, or position to the point of brutal honesty if he dislikes how someone is behaving or abusing what they have. Even though he likes martial arts, he doesn’t like to hurt people or abuse his strength and will apologize profusely if he goes too far or hurts someone.
Toki's main motivation and drive in the changing world of humans and Digimon is to achieve a semblance of peace and understanding between the two worlds. Despite the danger powerful Digimon pose, Toki believes that open-minded understanding will lead to more positive outcomes than outright mistrust or hostility. He knows that ideals without the strength to back them up will only be trampled by the strongest on either side, so he vowed to strengthen himself with his strange new abilities to fight for his beliefs.
History: Toki is second-generation Japanese, having been born in Goldenview to his parents, Yosuke and Ryoko Akiyama. His parents moved to the Lumen City area, fascinated by its community and technological developments. His father runs a karate dojo in Goldenview, one that Toki is prepared to eventually take over. Toki has had a rather comfortable, easygoing life, full of martial arts training and general schooling, and he was perfectly fine with this. He lived life day by day, spending his free time reading books, training, and writing poems he keeps entirely to himself.
During his early high school days, a lot of local thugs would constantly try their hand at challenging him after hearing he comes from a karate practicing family. He would always try to dissuade them, not wanting to hurt anybody, but this would oftentimes aggravate the problem further. Most of the time he just runs away or uses non-aggressive techniques to wear them down. One day, however, he got cornered and had a knife drawn on him. The shock took him off guard and the assailant got a clean cut along his lip. Adrenaline kicked in and he landed a strong punch to their face, breaking their nose and knocking them out instantly. Despite the fact that it was self-defense, he was mortified at the encounter. He worried people would see him as a scary thug but worst of all he really hurt somebody. It was the first time he had knocked someone out like that, and the strength he had frightened him. Since that day, people kept a wide berth of Toki during high school, either out of respect for his personal space, or worried that he had some kind of hidden violent side.
Once he graduated high school, he immediately moved on to college to major in running a business so he can eventually take over for his father at the dojo. He is, however, also minoring in creative writing, as he wants to write stories for a living as well. Things have been comfortable since high school, and the incident seemed like just a bad dream. Everyone had moved on from it, as high school students do once they’re past that part of their lives. Still, it left an impact on him. He wanted to use his strength to help and inspire people, not make people fear him in any way. He was content with his life in Goldenview, however, and would be happy if it remained tranquil. Soon, however, things would never be the same again.
Soon after his first encounters with Digimon, Toki found himself kidnapped by a Petermon named Percival, who proceeded to perform a series of experiments on Toki. The result of the experiments have left Toki with the body of a Digimon with no identifiable way to return him to human form. He was then rescued by two Digimon, the powerful Setsuna, an Antylamon rumored to be far stronger than he appears, and Aylin, Setsuna's daughter. Toki currently spends much of his time with them to adjust to his new form and to mentally prepare himself to explain his situation to others.
As of now, he has reunited with his family and explained the bizarre circumstances of his current form. Given his situation, he still opts to remain hidden for the time being and train with Setsuna to further understand what it means to be a Digimon.
